What a bridge gives back
A bridge restores your smile, your ability to eat and chew properly, and your speech. It keeps your bite aligned and supports the shape of your face, and it stops the teeth around the gap from shifting. Dr. McFerran makes sure it fits and adjusts it for comfort.
Caring for your bridge
Avoid foods that could dislodge or damage it, such as sticky candy, ice and some raw vegetables. Brush and floss daily to prevent decay and gum disease, and use a floss threader or interdental brush around the bridge. Keep your regular exams so the fit can be checked, and book right away if it ever gives you trouble.

Usually two. The supporting teeth are prepared and measured first, with a temporary bridge in between, then the final bridge is fitted and cemented.
When would I need an implant-supported bridge?
When several teeth in a row are missing and there are not enough healthy teeth to support a traditional bridge.
